Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation is a proud partner of the Newcastle Region Library’s “Ten Minutes a Day” early literacy program.
The Foundation has supported the establishment of the “Ten Minutes a Day” program in the Hunter, Mid North Coast, Northern Rivers and New England regions. The Foundation values the importance of early literacy and believes that reading for just 10 minutes a day to a child is a wonderful investment in their future.
The Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation was established in August 2004, marking Newcastle Permanent Building Society’s 100th anniversary, as a gift to thank the community for its long-term support.
The Foundation offers funding for projects, initiatives and causes that might otherwise not exist or be realised because of a lack of funding in the Hunter, Central Coast, Mid North Coast, Northern Rivers and New England regions. Approximately $1 million in grants are distributed to not-for-profit community organisations each year, and it is anticipated this level of support will grow over time.
